make 8 servings,1/2 cup Wesson, pure vegetable oil, or olive oil

1 clove garlic, minced

2 cups chopped onion

1 cup chopped celery

4 tablesp. chopped parsley

1 can 6-oz Hunt’s Tomato Paste

1 can 10-1/2-oz can beef broth, undiluted (stock mix)

9 cups water

1 cup coarsely chopped cabbage

2 carrots, thinly sliced

2 teasp. salt (to taste at end)

1/4 teasp. pepper

1/8 teasp. sage

1 can 1-Lb kidney beans

1 cup green beans or peas

1 cu elbow macarono

Grated Parmesan cheese


1. Heat oil in large pot. Add garlic, onion, celery and parsley. cook until soft

2. Stir in Hunt’s Tomato Paste and next 7 ingredients. Mix well, bring to boil

3. Lower heat, cover and simmer slowly 1 hour

4. Add remaining ingredients except cheese. cook 10 to 15 minutes more or until macaroni is tender,

5. Server piping hot with plenty of cheese.
